Our Work Process

Being a local company, established in the local market, our consultants and partners have developed an intimate familiarity and understanding of Macau, its job-market, its culture, its laws and, of course, its people. This, coupled with an extensive network into different talent pools enables us to access the top talent available locally at different levels and in different industries.

Our Recruitment Services are tailor-made to suit each client's needs and usually encompass the following services: Recruitment & Selection of Candidates, consultancy on compensation & benefits, promoting our client's vacancies and employer branding, drafting contracts, assisting in the negotiation process, and following-up with both Candidates and Employers on the success of the placement. Others, such as drafting staffing plans for new projects, payroll processing or visa application can also be provided, depending on each client's needs.

Our Work Process, outlined below, is, by design, constantly being refined and flexible enough to fit the different needs of each client, each project. Also, and throughout the whole process, the Account Manager will consult regularly with the client to report on the project's progress and clarify any required issues.

• The briefing - The search process starts with a briefing meeting with the Client. Prior to that, a specific Account Manager has been appointed to the project, based on the industry and project's complexity. In this briefing meeting our account manager will clarify the needs and expectation of the client, and gain an understanding of its culture, strategic objectives, resources and expectations.
• The Recruitment Strategy - As a follow-up to the briefing meeting, the Account Manager will lead the search process, by devising the appropriate recruitment strategy.
• Candidate Procurement - In this phase our Talent Managers will go through our database to search for appropriate matches. At the same time, the Account Manager will explore his/her own network in the industry to identify potential candidates and, if required, make use of our extensive advertising space in different online and regular media to advertise the vacancies. This will result in a shortlist of candidates who will be considered for the next stages of the process.
• Candidate Interview - Candidates short listed in the previous step will be approached, assessed and interviewed, focusing on their fit to the function and, as importantly, to the hiring organization.
• Candidate Report - In this stage, Candidate Reports, including our assessment of their fit to the role, their CVs, availability and salary expectations of the short listed Candidates are provided to the Client.
• Final Interviews - We schedule and bring candidates to the interviews with the Clients, after which we consult with both Candidates and Employers to understand whether to proceed to the final stage of the recruitment or if there's the need to seek alternatives.
• Offer and negotiation - At this stage, we assist the Client to reach satisfactory terms with the primary target. We provide an assessment on the market conditions and terms as well as on the candidate's expectations, help prepare an appropriate compensation package and support the overall negotiation process.
• Follow-up - Once the Candidate has been placed we will keep regular contact to ensure that expectations have been met on both sides and to support the overall integration process of the candidate to the new job.

Account Managers

Specific account managers are appointed to each client, based on their industry expertise and/or the complexity of the project. The account manager provides a unique and simple point of contact to the clients and is in close contact with the client throughout the project, focused in maximizing their use of time, clearly understand their needs and lead the search project. Their appointment to a specific client is done on a long-term perspective, with the purpose of maximizing their understanding of the client's needs, culture and requirements to ensure superior quality and client satisfaction.

Talent Managers

The talent manager has the functions of understanding clearly the potential, ambitions and situation of the candidates in our database. They are in regular contact with candidates, provide career guidance and support, discuss potential vacancies and are constantly on the lookout for additional talents. Also, as an after service, they follow-up with candidates to understand how they're adapting to their new jobs. We see the Talent Managers as agents of our candidates, aiming to place the right candidates on the right jobs, at the right time.

How to cope with an over-stretched job market

Finding and retaining good employees is always a challenge. However, Macau with its limited workforce, legal restrictions on labor importation and high demand for workers is definitely a special case. In order to increase your chances of recruiting and retaining the best employees possible, we suggest the following:

• Work with professionals
  Human Resources Management companies can be a great help in finding the right people at the right time and by a fair market price. It can be extremely frustrating and time-consuming to find good candidates nowadays in Macau. Instead, let professionals do the work for you.
• Be creative and flexible
  Sometimes you can win a good candidate on the details, such as starting date, annual leave or special perks (insurance, provident fund, annual bonuses, career progression plans, etc.). Be sure to understand what the candidates are looking for and make an offer that is appealing and caters to their needs.   Macau has a very specific culture, resulting from its rich history and cultural mix. The working culture specifically is very different from other places, even neighboring Hong Kong. Unlike other markets people in Macau tend to be less communicative and expressive even in situation where they are supposed to be trying to sell themselves.
• Assess candidates' motivations and match

Furthermore, we will assign a talent manager to you whom will always be an email of phone call away. This talent manager will use our extensive network and industry expertise to fulfil your career aspirations in the best way possible.

Our expectations of our Candidates

Honesty: We promise to be honest to you. In the same way, we expect you to be completely honest with us, as it will only increase our chances of working well together and better responding to your expectations.

Professionalism: We will represent you with our clients. But also, once we recommend you to them, you are in some way representing our company. Therefore, we expect you to show up for interviews fully prepared, namely showing up on time, being prepared for the interview, dressing appropriately, etc... Basically, we expect you to confirm the good impression you made with us. We will help you in this process to ensure that the best possible outcome can be reached.

Stability: We try to ensure that the job we match you with is the job of your dreams. Therefore, we expect that you will have a great chance of succeeding and advancing your career there. Obviously, our clients have the same expectations. Therefore, unless an extraordinary reason comes up, we expect our Candidates to stay with the job for a reasonable amount of time. Also, in case something goes wrong, we expect you to talk to us, as we can sometimes use our "neutral" status to help solve or minimize eventual problems.

How does it work ? - Terms and Conditions

There are three conditions for this scheme to apply:

• The candidate referred by you must not already be on our Database (we will confirm it to you as soon as we receive the referral).
• The candidate referred must be effectively placed in a permanent contract employment through MyJobs Macau within a period of 6 months after being referred by you.
• The candidate referred by you must remain employed in the said position for a minimum period of 3 months.

How do we show our appreciation ? - Payment Details

By giving you an amount up to MOP5,000 per referral for you to buy a gift for yourself! There's no limit earning, and you'll get as much as the number of candidates referred by you. The amount per referral will depend on the referred candidate's placement position and salary, as shown on the table below.

How do you get it?
